What colour to paint?
We have decided to repaint Geoffrey as close to his original colour as we can! easy right?! Well I never realised how hard it would be to find the right shade of green! 5 tester pots later still nowhere near! Too dull, too bright, too pale, too blue! Arghh! Then I pop down to my local dulux decorator centre to see if they can help. A very helpful guy says if I can bring in a 20 pence piece flake of paint he can scan it in and match it to the nearest colour! I have just the thing at home - a flake from the wheels that came of when sanding! Skeptical I went back to dulux with my tiny flake of paint and...hey presto it's scanned in, tester pot mixed and I come home to test...spot on! I cannot believe it. Next thing to find the right shade of cream! Problem starts all over again and this time I don't have a flake of cream paint to scan. We go around our kitchen holding a painted board (of the green) as I have alot of creams in it! We discover the right match is my kitchen cupboards! Perfect so off I trot to dulux where they again scanned it in and once again the mixed colour is spot on!
We are in those process of painting so watch this space for the transformation!
The story begins...
Our girls have been nagging daddy that they want to go camping! I say brilliant idea girls - we still have our tent!!! Daddy on the other hand is not so keen, we have camped a few times now, I have loved it but hubby has 'tolerated' it! - I think he has forgotten the fun times! Although maybe they are overshadowed by bad experiences with the weather! He does however agree that we must take the children at least once!
Wait! Then I have an idea! How about a caravan?! Not any old caravan but a vintage one!
A whole week later after searching tirelessly on ebay for the right one...I find it! ... A 1966 sprite 400.

We picked it up from Derbyshire from a lovely gentlemen who was very sad to see it go, so here begins our project of restoring ' him' thought it only fair it was a boys name! - we have three girls and the dog is a girl - hubby needs some support! So he is named Geoffrey after 1966 World Cup scorer Geoff Hurst! (Football has to get in there somewhere!)
